Where are lessons held?

NewSong Academy London has a beautiful new, dedicated home studio space located right in the heart of Westmount London. With a convenient waiting area for students/parents, accessible WIFI and easy parking, it's a comfortable and pleasant learning environment. To ensure the safety of our students during the COVID-19 outbreak, NewSong Academy is currently exclusively offering virtual lessons online.

What age can students start?

At NewSong, we teach students age 4-104! For junior students, a discussion between parent and teacher will help determine when a child is ready for lessons and/or how to tailor music lessons to their current capabilities. Contact NewSong today to begin the conversation!

What musical styles can I study at NewSong?

NewSong is a celebration of ALL musical styles! Suzanne has formal pedagogy training in classical voice and piano AND contemporary vocal styles. This is what makes NewSong unique -it's a place where you can master the musical styles you love and explore something new. Students are always encouraged to explore new genres - chances are, they'll be surprised to discover something new to enjoy.

What performance opportunities are available for students?

Accepted Answer

At NewSong, students are encouraged to stretch their comfort zones and share their music in a wide variety of performance opportunities. Seasoned performers are prepared for post secondary or music theatre company auditions. Students can work toward formal conservatory exams and can perform in Kiwanis festivals or NATS vocal auditions. NewSong holds both full-studio recitals and smaller studio classes/junior music parties where students can perform for each other in a safe, supportive environment. The highlight of the NewSong year is definitely our year-end backyard concert and party, it's a blast!

What levels of music do you teach?

NewSong eagerly accepts students of all levels of experience. Suzanne loves working with beginners all the way to advanced students. She has helped four year olds find middle C, prepared students for their professional and university auditions (even Juilliard!), and loved every minute!

What is NewSong's holistic teaching philosophy?

Suzanne views her students from a whole-person perspective. Organizational aptitude, performance confidence, growth mindset and problem solving skills are all at the root of growing excellent musicians. These are core strengths for thriving in all of life; students at NewSong are equipped and encouraged to grow in these areas in the midst of mastering artistic and technical skills. This is why studying at NewSong is an asset for every student, whether their goal is a career in music or personal enjoyment.
